Have you ever felt like you just want to run away from it all?
Go where there are no distractions or disruptions.
Maybe you envision a spa getaway or maybe even a one night away at a hotel.
These "statistical chill-outs" - those that have a start & end date - are absolutely what your soul needs from time-to-time.
Yet, when you are a creative soul - building space into your life can't happen from time-to-time, it needs to be integrated into your day-to-day life.
If you know you've suppressed your inner artist – you’ll know if she's calling you to come alive again – to express herself – to be set free – because she won’t leave you alone.
She'll be quietly, but persistently calling to you - asking for more...
The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do. ~Sarah Ban Breathnach
Imagine for a moment being able to experience more flow and fluidity in your days with whatever you're doing - where you feel both productive and peaceful at the same time.
Does that sound blissful to you? Where you are accomplishing but aren't feeling pressure - merely producing from inspiration.
Interesting concept for sure – but one that may feel foreign.
Most of us were taught that to get results and achieve success - hard work (most often overwork) - was the value to prioritize.
Yet, for a creative soul that wants both peace and productivity in your life - working hard and overexerting yourself to...
Feeling worthy of your own time and attention is a skill that most need to learn and incorporate into everyday life. Society teaches that you must do good, give to others, and be a good person.
Yet, you can’t give what you don’t already have (a.k.a. energy, feeling of fullness and love, etc.) - when you’re running on an empty tank.
You know how good it feels to share your gifts and talents with others and how they benefit. Yet, when you over-give, you can experience burnout from overgiving and overextending yourself. This is when it is vital to look underneath the surface to see where you may be overgiving, overcompensating, overworking, etc. - and what your true motive is.
Oftentimes when you are overextending...
Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction. ~Rumi
Oftentimes there is a big disconnect between what your heart deeply desires and what your head tells you that you’re capable and worthy of.
It’s one thing to say what you want and it’s another thing to believe with every cell of your being that you’re worthy of receiving it.
In coaching sessions, we always go for the root of what is holding someone back. What we most often discover is something that’s totally unconscious.
The challenges faced usually sounds something like this: “I don’t know what it is – I just can’t do it. I know what I want, I can see it, I journal around it, write ideas in...
“I am a little pencil in God's hands. He does the thinking. He does the writing. He does everything and sometimes it is really hard because it is a broken pencil and He has to sharpen it a little more.” ~Mother Teresa
I remember reading somewhere that a high quality of life has to do with what you take off your plate than what you add onto it.
It is true. Removing things off your plate both externally in your outer world and internally in your inner world is truly the KEY to living authentically.
We all know how awesome it feels to purge, clear out your closets and clear space on your calendar for new things to show up in your life.
Yet, what most often...

Coaching doesn't make sick people well - it helps healthy people become extra-ordinary. ~Thomas Leonard
Last week I had a conversation with a close friend about how we all can get into the trap of self-help addiction and believing that paying attention to your growth and evolution means fixing yourself.
In other words, there is something wrong with you that needs to be helped, (a.k.a. self-help).
Not true. There isn't anything wrong with you - and nothing that needs to be "fixed".
Even Iyanla Vanzant, who has her own show on OWN called Iyanla Fix My Life - insists that she doesn't fix anyone's life but gives people the tools to do it themselves.
That is really the key: realizing you have the power vs. believing that you need to fixed or changed in...

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” ~Steve Jobs
I think you’d agree that time is your greatest commodity. It’s a true gift to have more time for yourself, your life, with your family and for the pursuit of your creative aspirations for your continual evolution and growth as a person.
Yet, what most don’t realize is – what you value in life is displayed by...
When you feel overwhelmed by all there is to do - you feel powerless and buried under a heap of responsibilities. You may often struggle with feeling stuck and unmotivated and hear your inner critic voice say - "Why bother even trying - it's not going to make a difference anyways.
If you've struggled with a consistent pattern of feeling overwhelmed, stressed, tired and burnt-out - by all there is to DO - and never feeling like you will be able to catch-up, then I invite you to look a little deeper and determine what may be driving you to want to feel overwhelmed.
Wanting to feel overwhelmed? Are you crazy? Who would want that!?
Consider this - when you crave more time, more space, more balance, more sanity in your life - and then you...
